Accompanied by Member of Parliament Mr. Vijay Baghel and representatives of the District and Janpad Panchayats, Mr. Kashyap inspected the various components of the project, which is being developed over 110 acres at an estimated cost of Rs 23 crore. The facility is expected to significantly enhance the processing and value addition of various minor forest products collected from across the region.
During the visit, the Forest Minister also reviewed the types of produce currently being stored in warehouses, millets under cultivation, and post-processing distribution systems. Emphasizing environmental responsibility, Mr. Kashyap urged local representatives to plant saplings in the name of “one tree mother” across the entire project area.
Senior district officials, including DFO Mr. Chandrashekhar Pardeshi and SDM Mr. Lavkesh Dhruv, were present along with other department staff and community members. The processing center is part of the state’s broader strategy to promote forest-based livelihoods and empower rural communities.
