TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 12, 2025: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai reiterated the importance of collective responsibility in tackling climate change, while addressing the “Fight Against Global Warming” campaign held at the Krishak Auditorium of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University. The event was jointly organized by the Chhattisgarh State Non-Government School Operators Association and the Chhattisgarh State Gau Conservation and Promotion Committee.
Calling environmental protection a shared duty, the Chief Minister emphasized that meaningful results can only be achieved when every citizen actively contributes. “Environmental awareness must be instilled in children from an early age to secure a clean, beautiful and safe future,” he stated, while commending educators and campaign organizers for their efforts in raising awareness and taking action.
Highlighting the state’s commitment to green development, CM Sai noted that Chhattisgarh is making remarkable progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who has set the national goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2070. “Chhattisgarh’s new industrial policy has attracted investments of over ₹3 lakh crore in the energy sector alone,” he said, adding that the state is advancing in renewable energy and environmental conservation.
The Chief Minister also shared that a massive tree plantation drive was conducted in the state last year, during which 4 crore saplings were planted. He emphasized the continuation of such innovative initiatives, including “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” and “People for People,” to promote sustainable living.
On the occasion, CM Sai appreciated the association’s commitment to planting 11 lakh peepal trees in the coming years, describing it as a commendable pledge toward climate action.
Reflecting on the state’s progress, CM Sai remarked that as Chhattisgarh celebrates its silver jubilee, it has achieved historic milestones in inclusive development. “Today, leading institutions such as IIT, IIM, and AIIMS are playing a vital role in the growth of Chhattisgarh,” he added.
He also underscored the role of education in national progress, acknowledging the contribution of private institutions in expanding access and quality. “To realize Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047, we have outlined a comprehensive vision document for a Viksit Chhattisgarh and are accelerating our efforts accordingly,” he concluded.
