TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 3, 2025: Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal today launched a significant digital service — the online renewal facility for pharmacists’ registration through the portal of the Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council. The initiative aims to simplify and streamline the renewal process for over 35,000 registered pharmacists across the state.
Speaking at the launch event held at his residence office in Raipur, Shri Jaiswal emphasized that the new service will end the need for pharmacists to travel to Raipur for registration renewal. “Until now, pharmacists had to appear in person at the council office for renewal. With this digital facility, they can now renew their registration from anywhere, saving time and effort,” he said.
Pharmacists can now upload scanned copies of the required documents and submit the renewal fee online. Once the renewal is processed, the updated registration certificate will be sent directly to their address via post. The minister added that the move, undertaken as per the directives of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, is part of the government’s broader initiative to digitize health services and make them more accessible.
The online facility builds on the council’s existing portal, which already supports initial registrations for pharmacy graduates. With the addition of the renewal service, the system now offers end-to-end online registration and management for pharmacists.
Shri Arun Kumar Mishra, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council, along with Vice President Shri Rahul Tiwari, Registrar Shri Ashwani Gurdekar, and other council members and staff were present at the launch.
This digital shift is expected to not only reduce administrative burden but also allow pharmacists to focus more on their professional responsibilities, thereby strengthening the healthcare delivery system across Chhattisgarh.
