TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 29, 2025 — A regular virtual review meeting chaired by Secretary-cum-Transport Commissioner Shri S. Prakash was held today at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan to evaluate the progress of High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) implementation across major cities including Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Korba, Raigarh, Ambikapur, and Jagdalpur.
Shri Prakash emphasized the urgent need to improve the HSRP fitment system and instructed officials and contracted companies to double the number of plates installed by next week. The meeting focused on operational challenges such as mobile number updates and the effectiveness of district-level mobile camps.
Strict guidelines were reiterated that the government-approved fee must be charged only at transport department camps and official fitment centers. Additional charges apply solely for dealer points and home delivery services. Plates must be permanently affixed in visible locations on vehicles in compliance with Central Motor Vehicle Rules.
Jagdalpur’s Regional Transport Officer reported irregularities where some vehicles had HSRPs without proper fitting, with certain fitment centers and dealers allegedly distributing plates without installation. Shri Prakash ordered an immediate investigation and warned of strict legal action against violators.
The Secretary also directed the two contracted companies to devise action plans to strengthen HSRP fitment centers, particularly in the five key districts of Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, Ambikapur, and Jagdalpur, as well as in Naxal-affected sensitive districts Sukma, Bijapur, and Narayanpur.
To streamline mobile number updates, transport officials were instructed to circulate RTO employees’ WhatsApp contacts and utilize public service kiosks, along with print and electronic media outreach.
The meeting concluded with directives to establish permanent fitment centers at district headquarters and tehsil levels, enhance workforce availability, and ensure that plates ordered via office or camps are installed within one week at the nearest fitment center. Adequate seating and drinking water facilities must also be arranged at fitment centers.
A follow-up meeting to review progress on these initiatives will be convened soon.
