Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai Attends Budhalpen Karsaad and Mandri Mahotsav in Kanker

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 5, 2025: Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai graced the closing ceremony of the two-day Budhalpen Karsaad and Mandri Mahotsav 2025 held at Sambalpur High School Karathi in Kanker district as the chief guest. The festival celebrates the rich tribal culture and traditions of the region, fostering a connection between the younger generation and their ancestral roots.

During the event, Shri Sai offered prayers to Budhadev, the revered tribal deity, wishing happiness and prosperity for the state. Highlighting the importance of the day, which coincided with World Environment Day, he urged citizens to participate in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign by planting trees in honor of their mothers.

In a significant announcement, the Chief Minister allocated Rs 25 lakh each for the construction of Gondwana Samajik Bhawan buildings in Bhanupratappur and Durgkondal. Additionally, Rs 10 lakh was announced for shed construction in 12 parganas, Rs 5 lakh for 5 circles, and funds for building the Gram Panchayat at Sambalpur.

Shri Sai also highlighted key developmental initiatives since the formation of the state government, including the approval of 18 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, with 3 lakh homes already handed over. He detailed various welfare schemes aimed at women’s economic empowerment, such as the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Yojana, and Tendu Patta Bonus Yojana.

The Chief Minister shared progress on digital inclusion, announcing that Atal Digital Seva Kendras (Common Service Centers) have been established in 1,460 Gram Panchayats, with plans to expand to all Panchayats soon. He handed over a Rs 75 lakh incentive cheque to Collector Nilesh Kumar Mahadev Kshirsagar, recognizing the district’s development efforts by NITI Aayog.

The event also saw the launch of the Mawa Modol Manthan Yojana, which will provide youth with employment-oriented training based on their interests. Five TB-free Gram Panchayats were honored for their achievements.

Kanker MP Bhojraj Nag, Antagarh MLA Vikramdev Usendi, Bhanupratappur MLA Savitri Mandavi, and Kanker MLA Asharam Netam praised the festival’s role in preserving tribal culture. The celebration featured vibrant folk dance performances by youth dressed in traditional attire, creating a colorful and festive atmosphere.

District Panchayat President Kiran Nareti, Fisheries Welfare Board Chairman Bharat Matiara, former MP Mohan Mandavi, former MLA Devlal Dugga, senior officials, local representatives, and villagers also participated in the grand event.
