Unwavering Commitment to Tribal Development: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai Reviews Tribal Welfare Progress

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 10, 2025: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today led a high-level review meeting of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan, reiterating the government’s steadfast commitment to the welfare and upliftment of tribal society. During the meeting, he launched a new digital portal for hostel-ashram management and oversaw the online transfer of Rs 85 crore as the first installment for scholarships and food assistance for ashram hostels for the 2025-26 academic session.

Chief Minister Sai emphasized the government’s mission to improve the standard of living for tribal and special backward communities by ensuring their access to education, health, employment, and housing schemes. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedicated efforts toward tribal development and instructed officials to prioritize the effective implementation of flagship programs like PM Janman and Dharti Aba, focusing on quality completion of housing and road projects within deadlines.

Addressing the conditions of ashram hostels, the Chief Minister stressed uniformity in facilities such as toilets, beds, and drinking water, with strict actions planned against any negligence. He called for the construction of fully equipped hostels where necessary and the adoption of real-time monitoring systems to ensure transparency and accountability.

The review also covered the state’s 20 sports complexes, with Shri Sai expressing satisfaction over children’s achievements and promising enhanced facilities to nurture sports talent for national and international events, including Khelo India. He further urged the appointment of highly qualified trainers at Prayas schools and stressed preparing students for diverse career paths like engineering, medical, and competitive exams.

On tribal cultural preservation, Shri Sai reviewed ongoing Devgudi construction and Akhra development, directing improvements in lighting, seating, and drinking water facilities at faith sites. He also examined the Tribal Youth Hostel in New Delhi, recommending mentorship initiatives by recently selected All India Service officers to guide civil service aspirants from the state.

In addition, the Chief Minister reviewed multiple departmental schemes including Eklavya Residential School, Higher Education Promotion Scholarship, Tribal Multipurpose Marketing Center, and Forest Rights Certificates.

Chief Minister Reviews Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Tribal Freedom Fighter Museum Construction

Shri Sai also inspected the ongoing construction of the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Tribal Freedom Fighter Museum in Nava Raipur. He inquired about the museum’s concept, construction quality, and presentation materials, giving guidelines to ensure timely completion. The museum aims to vividly showcase historic tribal uprisings such as the Paralkot, Sonakhan, and Bhumkal rebellions, alongside contributions of prominent tribal freedom fighters, using modern audio-visual techniques to inspire future generations.

Principal Secretary of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, Shri Sonamni Bora, presented detailed departmental achievements and new plans via PowerPoint. The meeting was attended by Tribal Minister Shri Ram Vichar Netam, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Singh, Secretary Shri Rahul Bhagat, and senior officers of the Tribal Development Department.
