Chief Minister flags off free buses for Hola Mohalla Yatra, hails spirit of sacrifice, service and patriotism
TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 2, 2026: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday said that the teachings, sacrifices and legacy of the Sikh Gurus continue to inspire generations and serve as a guiding force for the entire nation. He made the remarks while visiting the Gurudwara near the Raipur Railway Station, where he offered prayers for peace, prosperity and the well-being of the people of Chhattisgarh.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister flagged off free buses arranged for devotees participating in the Hola Mohalla Yatra organised by the Sikh Sangat. As part of the annual pilgrimage, around 1,200 devotees departed for Hazur Sahib Nandedin Maharashtra and Gurdwara Nanak Jhira Sahib, travelling in 17 buses, two trucks and other vehicles. The yatra is regarded as a symbol of collective faith, devotion and long-standing tradition within the Sikh community.
Extending his best wishes for a safe and smooth journey, Shri Sai said that Hola Mohalla, celebrated at sacred sites associated with Guru Gobind Singh, is not merely a religious observance but also reflects the Sikh tradition of courage, discipline, selfless service and patriotism. He said the ideals upheld by the Sikh Gurus—sacrifice for righteousness and service to humanity—remain deeply relevant in contemporary society.
The Chief Minister also expressed happiness over the fact that the Sikh community has been organising the Hola Mohalla Yatra for the 25th consecutive year, describing it as a matter of pride and devotion. He congratulated the organisers and the entire Sikh Sangat for sustaining the tradition with enthusiasm and unity over the years.
Several prominent members of the Sikh community and public representatives were present during the event, including Raipur Member of Parliament Brijmohan Agrawal, Chairman of the Minority Commission Amarjeet Singh Chhabra, and Chairman of the Gurudwara Management Committee Surendra Singh Chhabra.
Community leaders said the continued support from the state government has encouraged religious harmony and facilitated smooth arrangements for devotees, reinforcing Chhattisgarh’s tradition of inclusiveness and mutual respect among communities.
