Balanced Diet, Regular Exercise, and Timely Health Checkups Key to Disease Prevention: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai

TFP Bureau,Raipur, June 14, 2025: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai emphasized the importance of maintaining good health through balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, and periodic medical checkups while addressing a grand free health camp organized at Jhulelal Dham on Canal Road, Raipur, today. He noted that these simple yet essential mantras can help prevent many diseases.

The health camp was held on the occasion of the 94th birth anniversary of Pujya Baba Gurudas Ram Saheb Ji and was jointly organized by Pujya Shadani Seva Mandal, Pujya Baba Garibdas Seva Mandal, Pujya Chhattisgarh Sindhi Panchayat, Bharatiya Sindhu Sabha, and Pujya Kandhkot Panchayat in collaboration with the state Health Department. Hundreds of citizens benefited from free health checkups and Ayushman card registrations, with specialist doctors offering their services.

Highlighting the rise of lifestyle diseases like hypertension and diabetes due to modern irregular habits, adulterated food, and pollution, the Chief Minister called such health camps a commendable initiative for public welfare. He also lauded the Sindhi community for their longstanding spirit of social service and recalled his association with their programs since his tenure as Raigarh MP.

CM Sai reflected on Chhattisgarh’s progress in healthcare as the state marks its silver jubilee. From having only one medical college at its formation, the state now boasts 15 government and private medical colleges, along with super specialty hospitals. The infrastructure and services at Primary Health Centers, Community Health Centers, and District Hospitals have been strengthened, complemented by the establishment of Health and Wellness Centres.

He highlighted several welfare schemes benefiting citizens, including the Ayushman Bharat scheme providing free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh for the poor, the Vaya Vandan scheme offering up to Rs 5 lakh for senior citizens above 70, and the Chief Minister’s Special Assistance Scheme granting Rs 25-30 lakh for serious medical treatments. The Chief Minister’s Vishvagnudan scheme also supports eligible patients financially.

The event concluded with the Chief Minister honoring the health camp coordinator Mr. Amit Chimnani and participating doctors for their service.

Among those present were MLA Shri Guru Khuswant Saheb, Dhamtari Mayor Shri Ramu Rohra, Chhattisgarh State Child Protection Commission Chairperson Dr. Varnika Sharma, Bharatiya Sindhu Sabha President Shri Ladharam Ji, Chhattisgarh Sindhi Panchayat President Shri Mahesh Daryani, volunteers from the Sindhi community, specialist doctors, and many citizens.
