TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 14, 2025: Chhattisgarh is rapidly transforming from a predominantly mineral and agriculture-based economy into an emerging centre for strategic, high-technology industries like defence, aerospace, and space technology. This remarkable shift is driven by visionary leadership under Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, who has revamped the state’s industrial policies to focus on contemporary, employment-oriented growth.
In a recent Council of Ministers meeting chaired by CM Sai, the state unveiled a dedicated industrial incentive package under the Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Policy 2024-30 specifically tailored to attract investments in advanced technology sectors. This comprehensive package aims to not only draw investments but also generate abundant service and employment opportunities for the state’s youth.
Incentives to Spur Growth in Strategic Sectors
The policy offers enterprises in defence, aerospace, and space technology up to 100 percent SGST reimbursement or a capital grant, depending on their permanent capital investment. Subsidies of up to 35 percent will be available for investments ranging from Rs 50 crore to over Rs 500 crore, capped at Rs 300 crore. Additional benefits include interest subsidies, exemptions from electricity duty, stamp and registration fee concessions, land use change fee waivers, employment-linked incentives, EPF reimbursement, and training grants.
A standout feature of the policy is its focus on local employment: industries employing Chhattisgarh residents for the first time will receive a salary-linked subsidy of up to 20 percent, underscoring the government’s commitment to inclusive growth and improved living standards.
Fostering Innovation and Research
The policy also promotes innovation, providing grants up to 20 percent for research and development in defence and aerospace, capital investment support for Centers of Excellence, and special assistance for drone training facilities. Large-scale investments exceeding Rs 1,000 crore or employing more than 1,000 people will qualify for additional industrial incentives, aiming to attract national and global industry leaders.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai emphasized the creation of an integrated ecosystem combining industrial investment, technical education, research, and innovation. “Our youth should not only seek jobs but also become job creators,” he stated, highlighting that this policy aligns with national initiatives such as Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
A New Era of Economic and Technological Growth
With these bold steps, Chhattisgarh is moving beyond its traditional economic base and positioning itself as a competitive destination for cutting-edge industries. This transformation is expected to accelerate the state’s economic prosperity and open new horizons for its young population, empowering them to realize greater ambitions in the evolving technological landscape.
