TFP Bureau, Panaji, June 19, 2025: Preparations are in full swing across India and around the globe for the 11th International Yoga Day to be celebrated on June 21. In Goa, the main state-level event, Yoga Sangam, will be held at the Pedem Sports Complex in Mhapussa, organized by the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa. The event is expected to witness enthusiastic participation from school and college students, government officials, and local residents from Pedem and surrounding areas.
At the national level, the main celebration will take place in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, where Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will lead the event from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM. Yoga sessions are scheduled simultaneously at over 1 lakh locations across India, reflecting the global appeal of this ancient wellness practice. This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” underscores Yoga’s role in promoting holistic health and harmony.
Following the directives of the Union Ministry of AYUSH, AIIA Goa has already organized several successful initiatives leading up to Yoga Day. Under the Harita Yoga campaign, special yoga sessions were conducted at heritage sites, tourist locations, temples, and forts across Goa, drawing participation from over 200 students. In addition, medical camps, yoga sessions, and quiz competitions have been held to spread awareness about the benefits of Yoga.
The state-wide initiatives are being led under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Sujata Kadam, Dean of AIIA Goa, and Prof. Dr. Mohan Joshi, Associate Dean. AIIA Goa reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Yoga as a vital tool for global health, well-being, and harmony, emphasizing its timeless relevance in today’s fast-paced world.
