New Ministers Get Education, Skill Development and Tourism Portfolios in Sai Cabinet Expansion

TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 20, 2025: Following the recent expansion of the Chhattisgarh cabinet, portfolios have been formally distributed among the 14-member council of ministers led by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. The three newly inducted ministers—Gajendra Yadav, Guru Khuswant Saheb and Rajesh Agarwal—have been entrusted with crucial portfolios covering education, skill development and tourism, marking their first responsibilities as cabinet members.

Newly Inducted Ministers

  • Gajendra Yadav – School Education, Village Industries, Law and Legislative Affairs
  • Guru Khuswant Saheb – Skill Development, Technical Education and Employment, Scheduled Caste Development
  • Rajesh Agarwal – Tourism, Culture, Religious Trusts and Endowments

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has retained key departments including General Administration, Mineral Resources, Energy, Public Relations, Water Resources, Aviation, Good Governance and Convergence, Electronics and Information Technology, Public Grievances and Redressal, along with other departments not allotted to any minister.

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao will oversee Public Works, Public Health Engineering, Urban Administration and Development, Sports and Youth Welfare, while Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma has been given Home, Jail, Panchayat and Rural Development, Science and Technology.

Other major allocations include:

  • Ramvichar Netam – Tribal Development, Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare, Biotechnology, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry
  • Dayal Das Baghel – Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection
  • Kedar Kashyap – Forest and Climate Change, Transport, Cooperation, Parliamentary Affairs
  • Lakhan Lal Dewangan – Commerce and Industry, Public Enterprises, Commercial Tax (Excise), Labour
  • Shyam Bihari Jaiswal – Public Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education, Backward Classes and Minority Development, 20 Point Program Implementation
  • O.P. Choudhary – Finance, Commercial Tax (except Excise), Housing and Environment, Planning, Economics and Statistics
  • Laxmi Rajwade – Women and Child Development, Social Welfare
  • Tankaram Verma – Revenue and Disaster Management, Rehabilitation, Higher Education

The inclusion of new faces in education, skills, and tourism portfolios indicates Chief Minister Sai’s focus on expanding employment opportunities, strengthening youth engagement, and enhancing Chhattisgarh’s cultural and tourism potential.
