TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 24, 2025: A one-day state-level training program for prosecution officers was organized at the auditorium of Mahanadi Mantralaya Bhawan, Nava Raipur, with a focus on strengthening the implementation of newly introduced laws and enhancing officers’ capacity to handle procedural complexities.
The training was inaugurated in the presence of Director General of Directorate of Public Prosecution, Shri Arun Dev Gautam, who attended as the chief guest.
Guidance from Senior Judiciary and Experts
During the sessions, Additional Sessions Judge, Raipur, Shri Vinay Kumar Pradhan, and Shri Shailesh Sharmaprovided guidance on the implementation of the Indian Civil Defense Code. Judge Pradhan, along with Additional Secretary, Law and Legislative Affairs, Shri Chandra Kumar Kashyap, delivered detailed inputs via video conference on evidence evaluation, procedural challenges, and the operational framework of the new law.
Shri Kashyap, joined by Additional Director, Public Prosecution, Shri K.S. Gavaskar, also threw light on the legal basis and administrative processes for filing appeals and revisions, stressing the importance of accuracy and timeliness in prosecution procedures.

Training on New Criminal Law Provisions
A technical session was led by Assistant Professor of Hidayatullah National Law University, Shri Pravesh Rajput, who elaborated on the newly added provisions in the criminal law framework. His presentation covered their practical application, interpretation, and challenges likely to arise in the field.
Participants also had an opportunity to raise queries and practical issues, which were addressed by the experts, ensuring clarity on procedures and the scope of responsibilities under the revised laws.
Wide Participation from Prosecution Department
The program witnessed active participation of officers from across the state, including Joint Directors, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors, and Assistant District Prosecution Officers. The event was coordinated by the Directorate of Public Prosecution, Naya Raipur, and supported by senior officials including Additional Director Shri K.S. Gavaskar, Deputy Directors Smt. Meena Jagdalla and Smt. Padma Sahu, Assistant Directors Shri Sohan Sahu, Shri Rakesh Kumar Singh, Ms. Manju Nema, Shri Kunwar Ratnesh Singh, Smt. Shivani Borkar, Shri Ashutosh Kumar Srivastava, Shri Dilip Kumar Singh, among others.
Focus on Strengthening Legal Implementation
The state-level initiative reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring effective enforcement of new laws by building the knowledge base and technical skills of prosecution officers. The training aimed to prepare officers not only for court procedures but also for upholding transparency, fairness, and accountability in the justice delivery system.
