TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 10, 2025: Chhattisgarh has earned national recognition for its outstanding performance in Aadhaar services, particularly for biometric updates of children under 18 years of age. The state was honoured at the prestigious Aadhaar Samvaad event held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, where Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw attended as chief guest.
The award was presented by Shri Tentu Satyanarayan, Deputy Director General (Finance) of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), and received on behalf of Chhattisgarh by Shri Manish Joshi from Chhattisgarh Sadan.
The recognition marks a major milestone in the state’s commitment to strengthening digital infrastructure and expanding citizen services. The Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHIPS), which functions as an Aadhaar enrolment agency, has played a pivotal role in achieving this success.
Targeted Focus on Child Biometric Updates
CHIPS CEO Shri Prabhat Malik shared that the award acknowledges the state’s significant efforts in carrying out mandatory biometric updates for children aged 5–7 and 15–17 years. In the past year, under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, CHIPS has organised 944 Aadhaar camps across remote and Naxal-affected areas of the state. These camps facilitated Aadhaar enrolment and updates for over 38,700 citizens.
The honour underlines the Chhattisgarh government’s continued push toward inclusive and accessible digital services, bridging gaps for underserved communities and ensuring no citizen is left behind in the digital age.
