TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 25, 2025: The Chhattisgarh Government has appointed senior IAS officer Vikash Sheel (IAS, 1994 batch)as the new Chief Secretary of the state. He will take charge on September 30, 2025, following the retirement of the incumbent Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain (IAS, 1989 batch).
The General Administration Department (GAD) issued the official notification on Thursday, stating that Vikash Sheel will assume responsibilities as Chief Secretary with effect from the date of Jain’s superannuation.
With this, Vikash Sheel will take charge of the state’s top bureaucratic post, overseeing administration, policy implementation and coordination between departments.
