Girls in Government Schools to Receive ₹30,000 for Higher Education: Deputy CM Arun Sao

TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 29, 2025: In a major step towards promoting girls’ education, Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Arun Sao announced that girls passing Class 10 and 12 from government schools will now receive ₹30,000 in financial assistance for pursuing higher studies. The announcement was made during the inauguration of the newly constructed Government Shashibala English-Hindi Medium Higher Secondary School of Excellence at Gudhiyari in Raipur, built at a cost of ₹3.37 crore.

Addressing students, Mr. Sao said the scheme would ensure that no girl has to discontinue her studies due to financial constraints. “This decision will empower girls to continue their education and fulfill their dreams,” he said. He also interacted warmly with students, narrating his own childhood experiences of studying in a mud house that doubled as a school. “Today, the government is providing you with modern, well-equipped schools so that you can focus on your education. It is now your responsibility to study diligently and make Chhattisgarh proud,” he told them.

The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s government is prioritizing school and higher education, with a focus on developing infrastructure that supports learning. He noted that Raipur’s rapid growth—now ranked fourth in the country among garbage-free cities—reflected the government’s commitment to improving urban life alongside education.

MP Brijmohan Agrawal, present on the occasion, praised the newly inaugurated school as “magnificent and well-equipped,” urging students to make the best use of the facilities. MLA Rajesh Munat also emphasized the state government’s commitment to supporting poor families and ensuring equal educational opportunities for all.

The new three-storey school building includes 23 classrooms, principal and staff rooms, storerooms, separate restrooms for boys and girls, parking, and modern amenities such as smart classrooms, CCTV surveillance, rainwater harvesting, and a stage for cultural activities. The premises are equipped with paved pathways, a sump well, a septic tank, and boundary walls, ensuring both safety and functionality for students.

Mayor Meenal Choubey, Municipal Corporation Chairperson Suryakant Rathore, local councillors, and senior officials also attended the inauguration, which marked yet another step in strengthening the educational infrastructure of Raipur.
