TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 30, 2025: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Chhattisgarh Government has issued fresh transfer and posting orders for several senior IAS officers, entrusting them with crucial responsibilities in the state administration. The orders, released by the General Administration Department from Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan, Nava Raipur, highlight the growing focus of the Vishnu Deo Sai government on strengthening governance, education, infrastructure, and public communication.
Among the most notable appointments, Dr. Rohit Yadav (IAS 2002) has been given charge as Secretary, Public Relations Department, in addition to his existing roles as Secretary, Energy Department; Secretary, Tourism and Culture Department; and Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Power Generation and Power Distribution Companies (CSPGCL & CSPDCL). With this change, P. Dayanand (IAS 2006) has been relieved from the additional charge of Secretary, Public Relations. Dr. Yadav, who has played a vital role in steering the state’s energy and tourism sectors, will now also spearhead government outreach and communication efforts.
Sonmani Bora (IAS 1997), currently Principal Secretary for Tribal Development, Scheduled Caste Development, and Backward Classes and Minority Development, has been assigned the additional charge of Principal Secretary, Science and Technology Department. His extended portfolio reflects the government’s emphasis on integrating tribal development with science and technology to ensure inclusive growth.
In another major move, Ankit Anand (IAS 2006), who holds the charge of Secretary, Planning, Economic & Statistics Department, and Twenty Point Programme Implementation, has now been appointed Secretary, Housing & Environment Department. He has also been entrusted with the additional charge of Secretary, Electronics & Information Technology Department, Secretary, Commercial Taxes (Registration), and Chairman, Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board. On his assuming charge, senior IAS officer Niharika Barik will be relieved from her additional responsibilities in the IT Department.
Subrat Sahu (IAS 1992) has been given temporary charge as Director General, Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, while continuing as Additional Chief Secretary of the Religious Trusts and Endowments Department and Director General of the Chhattisgarh Academy of Administration. This decision comes as part of a reshuffle in the state’s education administration. Sahu has also been entrusted with additional responsibilities of Chairman of the Revenue Board, Bilaspur, following the retirement of the incumbent of Topeshwar Verma (IAS 2005),.
The reshuffle order was signed by Rajat Kumar, Secretary, General Administration Department, underscoring its official execution in the name of the Governor of Chhattisgarh.
Other significant changes include: Renu G. Pillai (IAS 1991) taking temporary charge as Chairman of Vyapam and the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education; Avinash Champawat (IAS 2003) assigned additional charge of Religious Trusts and Endowments; Mukesh Kumar Bansal (IAS 2005) taking over Aviation Department responsibilities; and Bhuvnesh Yadav (IAS 2006) gaining charge of Planning and Economic Statistics. Junior IAS officers have also seen new roles, with Jitender Yadav (IAS 2019) being posted as Collector, Rajnandgaon, and Pathare Abhijit Baban (IAS 2022) taking over as Collector, Durg.
This reshuffle is being seen as part of the government’s strategy to strengthen administration across critical sectors like education, technology, environment, energy, and communication, while also ensuring efficiency in revenue, finance, and welfare departments.
