TFP BureauRaipur, September 30, 2025: Chhattisgarh has taken a pioneering step in governance and citizen service delivery with the inauguration of the country’s first Smart Registration Office at Atal Nagar, Nava Raipur. The state-of-the-art facility, built under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and driven by the initiative of Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary, was inaugurated today by Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, Tourism Minister Rajesh Agrawal, School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav, and several other dignitaries.
In a symbolic moment, Raipur resident Veena Devangan executed a property sale deed using digital payment facilities in front of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, marking the beginning of a new era of paperless, transparent and swift transactions in Chhattisgarh’s registration system.
PPP model sets a new benchmark
The Smart Registration Office has been developed on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to ensure efficiency, transparency and world-class standards. With this initiative, the long waits and crowded government corridors traditionally associated with property registrations will be replaced by a quick, citizen-friendly system. Officials stated that registering a house, shop or plot will now take just 12 to 15 minutes, offering convenience akin to the experience at passport offices and modern airports.
World-class amenities for citizens
The facility is designed to provide maximum comfort and efficiency. It features a fully air-conditioned environment, free Wi-Fi, charging points, and a modern queue management system with digital display boards to keep citizens informed in real time. A dedicated helpdesk will guide visitors through the process, while clean drinking water, waiting lounges, and airport-style restrooms ensure a hygienic and dignified experience.
Statewide transformation underway
The government has set an ambitious target of transforming all 117 registration offices across Chhattisgarh within a year. In the first phase, 10 offices are being modernized, with Nava Raipur becoming the flagship example. Inspired by this model, the central government is also considering replicating similar upgrades nationwide.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai described the project as a milestone in governance. “With the Smart Registration Office, Chhattisgarh is setting new standards for citizen convenience. This initiative reflects our vision of welfare-oriented governance and demonstrates that ease of service is the foundation of a responsive state,” he said.
Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma lauded Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary for conceptualizing the project, calling it a transformative step. “This initiative is not just about infrastructure—it represents the changing face of Chhattisgarh, where citizen services are aligned with modern aspirations and values of transparency,” they noted.
Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary emphasized that people remain at the center of governance. “The Smart Registration Office is proof of our commitment to ensuring transparency, convenience and trust in government services. In the days ahead, Chhattisgarh will emerge as a leader not just in registration reforms but in citizen-centric governance across India. These offices will strengthen faith in the system and bring pride to every citizen,” he said.
With this launch, Chhattisgarh has positioned itself as a frontrunner in modernizing government services, ushering in a future where efficiency, technology and citizen convenience define governance.
