TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 13, 2025: Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, concluded its flagship annual fest, “COLOSSUS 2025: Sports | Cultural | Literary,” with a spectacular valedictory ceremony that brought together an inspiring blend of competition, creativity, and collaboration. The three-day festival celebrated the spirit of youthful energy, holistic learning, and shared experiences that define the vibrant campus life at HNLU.
The valedictory function was graced by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Prakash Shrivastava, Chairperson of the National Green Tribunal and former Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court, as the Chief Guest. Shri Arun Deo Gautam, IPS, Director General of Police, Chhattisgarh, attended as the Guest of Honour.
In his opening address, the Chief Guest highlighted that COLOSSUS was not merely a festival but a philosophy, reflecting the deeper values of education rooted in empathy, teamwork, and respect. He observed that sports instill resilience, cultural events promote inclusivity, and literary pursuits encourage the art of meaningful dialogue — together embodying the spirit of comprehensive learning. Quoting, “Don’t cry because it’s over; smile because it happened,” he urged students to cherish the memories and carry the spirit of COLOSSUS into their future endeavors.
Justice Shrivastava, in his inspiring speech, compared life’s lessons to the qualities of a pencil, remarking that what lies within matters more than appearances, that challenges sharpen purpose, that every mark one makes is valuable, that mistakes can be corrected, and that true worth emerges when guided by purpose. Drawing parallels from his judicial journey, he reminded students that success is achieved through perseverance, self-belief, and commitment to truth rather than accolades or titles.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Arun Deo Gautam, IPS, encouraged students to view such events as platforms of experiential learning. He stated that participation in cultural, sports, and literary competitions teaches lessons beyond textbooks — lessons of leadership, teamwork, and responsibility. He motivated students to evolve into socially conscious individuals who contribute meaningfully to the nation’s growth and development.
Mr. Utkarsh Soni, Convener of COLOSSUS 2025, presented the event report, sharing that over 114 colleges from across the country participated in the festival. He emphasized how COLOSSUS had become a symbol of youthful leadership and learning through collaboration and competition. Mr. Harsh, Secretary of IMUNYP 2025, commended the dedication of organizing teams and highlighted the participation of 235 delegates, with special recognition received from the United Nations platform. He extended gratitude to Prof. Ankit Singh, Prof. Ashutosh, Prof. Amitesh, and the first- and second-year volunteers for their tireless efforts in ensuring the event’s success.
The ceremony began with a welcome address by Prof. Yogendra Srivastav, Dean of Postgraduate Studies, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ankit Singh.
