Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Offers Prayers to Sun God at Duldula Chhath Ghat

TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 27, 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, accompanied by his wife Smt. Kaushalya Sai, offered prayers to the Sun God at the Duldula Chhath Ghat in Jashpur on the auspicious occasion of Chhath Puja. The Chief Minister prayed for the peace, prosperity, and happiness of the people of Chhattisgarh and extended warm greetings to citizens across the state, marking the conclusion of this four-day festival of faith, purity, and gratitude.

Addressing devotees gathered at the ghat, Chief Minister Sai said it was a moment of immense privilege for him to participate in the sacred celebration of Chhath, which reflects the deep-rooted cultural values and traditions of the region. He expressed heartfelt appreciation for the love and trust the people have bestowed upon him and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the overall development of the Jashpur district and surrounding areas.

Responding to public demand, the Chief Minister announced the beautification of the Duldula Chhath Ghat. He stated that the work would be completed before the next Chhath festival, ensuring that devotees can perform rituals in a cleaner and more organized environment. Shri Sai also highlighted the recent beautification of the Kunkuri Chhath Ghat, completed at a cost of approximately ₹5.17 crore, where thousands of women devotees observed the festival this year with great devotion and enthusiasm.

“Chhath Puja is not only a festival of worship but also a celebration of faith, discipline, and respect for nature. The Sun God symbolizes life, energy, and vitality, and this festival strengthens the emotional and cultural unity of our society,” the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister further emphasized his administration’s commitment to preserving and promoting local religious and cultural traditions through improved infrastructure and better facilities at places of worship and pilgrimage.

The event witnessed large participation from devotees who offered arghya (holy offerings) to the setting and rising sun amid chants, folk songs, and traditional rituals. District Panchayat Vice President Shri Shaurya Pratap Singh Judev, Janpad Panchayat Duldula President Shri Ramkumar Singh, IG Shri Deepak Kumar Jha, Collector Shri Rohit Vyas, and Superintendent of Police Shri Shashimohan Singh were among the dignitaries present.

Hundreds of women observing the Chhath fast, along with local residents and public representatives, gathered at the ghat to celebrate the festival in a spirit of faith and community harmony. The serene atmosphere, illuminated by lamps and devotion, reflected the enduring significance of Chhath as one of the most revered traditions of Chhattisgarh.
