TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 31, 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today led the state-level celebration of National Unity Day by paying floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at his statue in Devendra Nagar, Raipur. Describing Patel as a visionary statesman whose leadership and courage united the princely states after Independence, the Chief Minister said that the Iron Man of India laid the foundation of a strong, integrated, and united nation.
Following the tribute ceremony, Chief Minister Sai participated in the ‘Run for Unity’ from Shastri Chowk to Sharda Chowk, joined by school children, public representatives, and citizens. The event was held to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and to promote the message of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Sardar Patel’s foresight and leadership remain a guiding light for the nation. “His courage, determination, and devotion to national unity transformed India’s destiny. His life is an example for every citizen, especially the youth, to serve the nation with dedication and integrity,” he said.
He further stated that under the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ‘Run for Unity’ is being organized across the country to reaffirm the commitment to national integrity, harmony, and solidarity. “India is a land of immense diversity, yet our culture and spirit are one. This unity in diversity is our greatest strength,” he emphasized.
The Chief Minister also administered the National Unity Pledge to all participants, urging them to uphold the values of unity, integrity, and patriotism. He called upon the younger generation to draw inspiration from great nation-builders like Sardar Patel and contribute to building a strong and prosperous India.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, youth, and citizens from all walks of life, who joined the Chief Minister in the unity run. Union Minister Jual Oram, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, MLA Kiran Dev, MLA Purandar Mishra, senior government officials, and several dignitaries were also present on the occasion, making the event a vibrant reflection of the state’s collective spirit and patriotic fervor.
