TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 14, 2025: The Chhattisgarh Council of Ministers, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, approved several major policy decisions during its meeting at Mahanadi Bhawan on Friday. The decisions span agriculture, governance reforms, housing, financial support for procurement operations and the long-term development of sports infrastructure.
The Cabinet approved the continuation of procurement of pulses and oilseeds under the Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyaan (PSS) during the upcoming Kharif and Rabi marketing seasons, as per the existing practice. Under this scheme, arhar, urad, mung, groundnut and soybean are procured during Kharif, while gram, mustard and lentils are procured in the Rabi season. The continuation of support price procurement is expected to maintain healthy market competition and ensure better price realisation for farmers across the state.
In another key decision, the Cabinet approved amendments to the Chhattisgarh Government Work (Allocation) Rules, merging the Public Enterprises Department with the Commerce and Industry Department, and integrating the Twenty Point Implementation Department with the Planning, Economics and Statistics Department. This restructuring aims to strengthen administrative efficiency and further the objective of “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.”
To ensure smooth paddy procurement at the support price for the upcoming Kharif marketing season, the Council of Ministers approved the revalidation of the state guarantee of ₹15,000 crore previously sanctioned for banks and financial institutions. Additionally, a fresh guarantee of ₹11,200 crore was approved for the State Marketing Federation. These financial measures are expected to ensure uninterrupted procurement and timely payments to farmers.
The Cabinet also approved revised eligibility provisions for the sale of houses under the Deendayal Housing Scheme, Atal Housing Scheme, Atal Vihar Scheme and the Nava Raipur Chief Minister Housing Scheme. As per the new provisions, if EWS and LIG houses remain unsold even after three rounds of advertisement, they may be sold to applicants from any income group. However, only those belonging to the prescribed income categories will be eligible for government grants. The Cabinet further permitted bulk purchases by individuals or organisations under similar conditions, though such buyers will not receive government subsidies. The state will undertake extensive dissemination of this decision to maximise public benefit.
In a significant move for sports development, the Cabinet approved leasing the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Nava Raipur to the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association for long-term management and development. The decision is expected to strengthen cricketing infrastructure, create advanced training facilities for young athletes and enable Chhattisgarh to host more national and international cricket tournaments in the future.
The meeting concluded with the government reaffirming its commitment to strengthen public welfare, ensure administrative efficiency and bolster economic and sports development across the state.
