Healthcare Services Extended to Remote Forest Villages Under ‘Niyad Nella Naar Yojana’

TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 14, 2025: The Chhattisgarh Government has expanded healthcare access to some of the state’s most remote and forested regions through the ongoing implementation of the Niyad Nella Naar Yojana. Acting on Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s directive to ensure universal and equitable healthcare, and under the leadership of Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, a large three-day medical outreach camp was organised in the interior areas of Chintalnar and Burkapal in Sukma district’s Konta block.

Located deep within dense forests and long deprived of regular medical services, these villages witnessed an extensive healthcare drive conducted directly under the trees that canopy the region. For many residents, the camp offered not only immediate medical assistance but also long-term access to government health schemes, making it a significant step toward bridging the rural-urban health gap.

The camp was led by Collector Devesh Kumar Dhruv and managed by teams from the Health Department, including doctors, medical officers and support staff who remained on-site for three consecutive days. Hundreds of villagers came forward for check-ups, treatment and free distribution of essential medicines. Officials noted that despite the isolation of the region, participation remained high, with villagers expressing gratitude for receiving doorstep healthcare that they rarely have access to.

One of the most impactful components of the camp was the facilitation of Ayushman cards. A total of 162 new cards were issued on the spot, while several others were distributed to beneficiaries who had previously enrolled. These cards will now enable villagers to avail free treatment for serious and chronic illnesses at empanelled hospitals, significantly easing their financial burden.

Residents welcomed the initiative, saying such camps not only allow timely health check-ups but also connect them to vital government schemes that were earlier out of reach due to geographical isolation. Officials stated that the government intends to continue similar outreach efforts to ensure that no community remains outside the formal healthcare network.

The three-day medical camp under the Niyad Nella Naar Yojana stands as a testament to the state’s commitment to delivering essential services to even the most inaccessible regions.
