TFP Bureau, Raipur, December 13, 2025: In a major boost to digital infrastructure and inclusive development, the Union government has approved the installation of 513 new 4G mobile towers across Chhattisgarh under the Digital Bharat Nidhi through Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). The initiative aims to strengthen mobile and internet connectivity in remote, interior and previously Naxal-affected regions of the state.
Welcoming the decision, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai described it as a landmark step that reflects the transition of Chhattisgarh from conflict-driven challenges to development-led governance. He said the approval is a direct outcome of sustained efforts to restore peace and security through coordinated action by security forces and the administration, which has created a conducive environment for development initiatives to reach the grassroots.
The Chief Minister stated that as stability returns to many Naxal-affected pockets, the government’s focus has decisively shifted towards expanding infrastructure and digital access. The new 4G towers, he said, will provide reliable mobile and high-speed internet services to people living in difficult and inaccessible terrain, many of whom are being connected digitally for the first time.
CM Sai underlined that enhanced connectivity will play a transformative role in key sectors such as education, healthcare and governance. Digital access will enable students in remote areas to benefit from online education, competitive exam preparation and digital learning platforms, while improved connectivity will support telemedicine services, online consultations and faster emergency response in far-flung regions.
He further noted that the expansion of mobile networks will significantly strengthen financial inclusion. With improved connectivity, residents of remote villages will be able to access banking services, direct benefit transfers, UPI-based transactions, insurance schemes, pensions and other digital financial services more easily and securely.
The Chief Minister said the project aligns with the core vision of Digital India, which seeks to ensure last-mile delivery of services and bridge the digital divide between urban and rural India. He added that better digital infrastructure will also open new employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for local youth, boost regional economic activity and enhance administrative outreach.
CM Sai emphasised that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Union government has adopted a dual approach of firm security measures alongside accelerated development in Left-wing extremism-affected states. The Chhattisgarh government, he said, is working in close coordination with the Centre to ensure that every citizen is integrated into the mainstream of development.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and Union Communications Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia for approving the project. He termed the decision a historic milestone towards making Chhattisgarh digitally empowered, economically inclusive and securely connected to the nation’s development journey.
