Chhattisgarh Partners with IIM Raipur, NIT Raipur, and Motilal Oswal Foundation to Drive Education, Innovation, and Skills Revolution

TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 8, 2025: Chhattisgarh has taken a major step towards reshaping its educational, innovation, and skill development landscape with the signing of a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Chhattisgarh, IIM Raipur, NIT Raipur, and the Motilal Oswal Foundation. The agreement, witnessed by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, paves the way for a state-of-the-art entrepreneurship centre to be built by 2027-28.

CM Sai said the initiative would be a game-changer in achieving the Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision, bringing a revolution in education, skill training, and innovation to even the most remote villages. The upcoming Shrimati Mithilesh Agrawal Centre for Innovation and Excellence in Entrepreneurship will benefit not only IIM and NIT students but also youth across the state, offering opportunities for research, experimentation, and enterprise development.

Highlighting the state’s shift from a resource-driven to an innovation-led economy, the Chief Minister noted Chhattisgarh’s entry into advanced sectors like semiconductors, AI, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, defence, and green hydrogen. He said over 350 reforms in the past 20 months have created an investor-friendly climate, attracting proposals worth ₹6.75 lakh crore in just eight months.

Motilal Oswal Foundation Chairman Ramdeo Agrawal announced the setting up of India’s largest farmer training centre in Raipur, reaffirming the Foundation’s commitment to Chhattisgarh’s growth. The Foundation has pledged ₹172 crore—₹101 crore for IIM Raipur and ₹71 crore for NIT Raipur—to fund key projects, including the Oswal Hostel, Dau Ram Gopal Agrawal Knowledge Centre, six international MBA programmes, and the Shrimati Mithilesh Agrawal Centre of Excellence at NIT Raipur.

The new NIT Raipur centre will focus on cutting-edge technologies such as AI, robotics, IoT, blockchain, and clean energy, aiming to train over 10,000 youth by 2030, incubate 250 startups, and generate more than 5,000 skilled jobs tailored to the needs of Chhattisgarh’s core industries.

The event was attended by senior government officials, academic leaders, industry representatives, and students, marking what CM Sai called “the beginning of a new chapter where Chhattisgarh’s youth will lead an innovation-driven future.”
