PM Modi reviews India’s milestones in final Mann Ki Baat of 2025; calls for youth-led innovation, cultural pride and responsible healthcare

TFP Bureau, Raipur/New Delhi,December 28, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday reflected on India’s achievements, challenges and aspirations in the 129th and final episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ for the year 2025, describing the year as one that strengthened national confidence and unity. The monthly radio address, broadcast nationwide, focused on India’s progress in national security, sports, science, culture, youth innovation and social responsibility, while also urging citizens to move into 2026 with renewed resolve.

In Raipur, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai listened to the broadcast at his residence along with public representatives, including Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey and MLAs Prabodh Minj and Purandar Mishra. The Chief Minister later said that ‘Mann Ki Baat’ continues to inspire citizens by reinforcing values of self-reliance, innovation, health awareness and collective nation-building.

Addressing the nation, Prime Minister Modi said 2025 had given India many moments of pride across sectors, from national security to global sporting arenas and scientific platforms. He cited Operation Sindoor as a defining moment that showcased India’s uncompromising approach to security and evoked strong patriotic sentiment across the country. He also recalled the nationwide participation marking 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’, highlighting the emotional connect citizens have with national symbols.

The Prime Minister lauded India’s sporting achievements, including victories by the men’s and women’s cricket teams, historic wins by women athletes in the Blind T20 World Cup, and medal-winning performances by para-athletes. He also highlighted advances in science and space, noting that Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla’s journey to the International Space Station marked a significant milestone.

Emphasising the role of youth, Modi spoke about the upcoming second edition of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue, to be held on National Youth Day, January 12. He said platforms such as this, along with initiatives like the Smart India Hackathon, enable young minds to convert ideas into solutions for real-life challenges. He noted that more than 13 lakh students from over 6,000 institutions have participated in the hackathon over the years, offering solutions in areas such as traffic management, cyber security, agriculture and digital banking.

The Prime Minister also underlined the importance of staying rooted in culture amid rapid technological change. He cited examples such as Geetanjali IISc, a cultural initiative started by students at the Indian Institute of Science, and Kannada Pathshale in Dubai, where Indian families are ensuring the next generation remains connected to their language and heritage.

Highlighting grassroots innovation, Modi praised Manipur’s Moirangthem Seth for using solar energy to address electricity shortages in remote areas, improving healthcare and livelihoods. Referring to the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, he said such individual efforts complement government initiatives aimed at promoting renewable energy.

The Prime Minister also drew attention to archaeological discoveries in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, which revealed ancient Buddhist structures, underscoring Kashmir’s rich historical identity. He spoke about efforts to promote Indian languages globally and domestically, citing Tamil language initiatives in Fiji and the recent Kashi Tamil Sangamam in Varanasi.

Paying tribute to freedom fighter Parvati Giri of Odisha ahead of her birth centenary in January 2026, Modi urged citizens to remember unsung heroes of the independence movement and pass on their legacy to future generations.

Expressing concern over health issues, the Prime Minister referred to a recent ICMR report on antibiotic resistance, warning against indiscriminate use of medicines and urging people to take antibiotics only on medical advice. He also highlighted how traditional arts and crafts, such as the Narasapuram lace industry in Andhra Pradesh, are empowering women economically, alongside inspiring examples from Manipur’s handicraft and floriculture sectors.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the Prime Minister’s address provided positive direction on critical issues, including the use of indigenous products, responsible healthcare practices and youth participation. He described ‘Mann Ki Baat’ as a unifying platform that consistently infuses society with inspiration, awareness and a sense of collective responsibility.

Concluding the broadcast, Prime Minister Modi extended New Year greetings to citizens, urging them to adopt a healthy lifestyle under the Fit India Movement and reaffirming confidence that 2026 would mark another important step towards the goal of a Viksit Bharat.
