TFP Bureau, New Delhi, January 4, 2026: In a move to strengthen digital voter services and enhance transparency in the electoral process, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has invited citizens across the country to share their suggestions for improving the ECINet App by January 10, 2026. The Commission has urged users to download the app and submit their feedback through the dedicated ‘Submit a Suggestion’ tab available within the platform.
The ECINet App, currently in its trial phase, has been designed as a comprehensive digital solution aimed at delivering improved voter services and faster access to election-related information. Key features include quicker availability of polling percentage trends and the publication of Index Cards within 72 hours of the close of polling—an exercise that earlier took several weeks or even months to complete.
According to the Election Commission, the app was successfully piloted during the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 as well as subsequent bye-elections, where it demonstrated its potential to streamline election data dissemination and enhance public access to information. The feedback received during these trials has already contributed to refining the platform’s functionality.
The Commission stated that ECINet is being continuously upgraded based on inputs from Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs), District Election Officers (DEOs), Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), election observers and field-level officials. Citizen suggestions will now form an important part of this process, with the objective of making the app more intuitive, accessible and user-friendly before its official launch, scheduled later this month.
ECINet is one of the flagship digital initiatives of the Election Commission, developed under the leadership of Chief Election Commissioner Shri Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi. Development work on the platform began after its formal announcement on May 4, 2025.
The app brings together nearly 40 previously separate election-related applications and websites into a single, unified interface. These include popular platforms such as the Voter Helpline App (VHA), cVIGIL, Saksham, Polling Trends (Voter Turnout App) and the Know Your Candidate (KYC) App, among others. By integrating these services, ECINet aims to simplify voter engagement and improve ease of access to election-related information.
The ECINet App is available for download on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, and the Commission has encouraged maximum public participation to help shape the platform into a robust digital backbone for India’s electoral ecosystem.
