Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai meets newly appointed advisor; role to strengthen media coordination and policy communication
TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 22, 2026: The Chhattisgarh Government on Thursday appointed senior journalist Shri R. Krishna Das as Advisor to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and accorded him the status of a Cabinet Minister. The decision underscores the State Government’s emphasis on strengthening strategic communication, media coordination and informed advisory support at the highest level of governance.
According to an official order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) from Mahanadi Bhavan, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, Shri R. Krishna Das has been appointed as Advisor to the Chief Minister. In this capacity, he will advise the Chief Minister on media-related matters and other important issues of public and administrative relevance. Along with the appointment, the State Government has granted him Cabinet Minister status, reflecting the significance of his advisory role.
Shri R. Krishna Das is a well-known senior journalist with long experience in the field of media and public affairs. His appointment is seen as a move to enhance the effectiveness of government communication, ensure accurate dissemination of policies and programmes, and strengthen engagement with the media and the public.
Chief Minister Congratulates New Advisor
Following the appointment, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met Shri R. Krishna Das at his residence office in Raipur on Thursday. During the meeting, the Chief Minister congratulated him on assuming the new responsibility and conveyed his best wishes for the efficient and effective discharge of his official duties.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that Shri Das’s experience and understanding of media and public discourse would contribute positively to the functioning of the government and help in presenting the State’s development initiatives and policy decisions in a clear and constructive manner.
Officials said that as Advisor to the Chief Minister, Shri R. Krishna Das will play an important role in advising on communication strategy, media outreach and other key issues, thereby supporting the government’s efforts to maintain transparency, responsiveness and effective public engagement.
