Smart Classrooms to Transform Learning in Jashpur Schools

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurates technology-enabled classrooms in Kansabel; 206 interactive panels to be installed in government schools under CSR initiative

TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 25, 2026: In a significant step towards strengthening digital education in rural and tribal regions, school children in Jashpur district will now study in smart classrooms equipped with modern technology. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday inaugurated smart classroom facilities at Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Kansabel, marking the formal launch of the initiative aimed at enhancing the quality of education in government schools across the district.

The project is being implemented with financial support of ₹5 crore sanctioned by South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund. Under the initiative, as many as 206 interactive digital panels will be installed in selected government schools of Jashpur district in a phased manner, significantly upgrading classroom infrastructure and teaching methodologies.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that integrating modern technology with traditional teaching is the need of the hour. He emphasised that students in rural and remote areas must also get access to quality educational resources comparable to those available in urban centres. “Smart classrooms will make learning more interesting, interactive and effective. This initiative will nurture innovation, curiosity and technological skills among students, which are essential for building a strong foundation for their future,” the Chief Minister said.

He further noted that digital tools can help teachers explain complex concepts in a simpler and more engaging way, thereby improving learning outcomes. Appreciating SECL’s contribution, the Chief Minister said that public-private partnerships and CSR initiatives play a crucial role in strengthening the education system, especially in aspirational and tribal districts like Jashpur.

Officials informed that through the interactive panels, teachers will be able to use digital content, educational videos, presentations and e-learning resources during classroom instruction. The technology is expected to make lessons more engaging and student-centric, benefiting hundreds of children studying in government schools across the district.

The initiative is being implemented following a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last month between the Jashpur district administration, SECL and EduCIL (Educational Consultants India Limited). The MoU aims to provide modern and quality educational facilities in government schools and promote digital learning infrastructure in the district.

MLA Smt. Gomati Sai, along with other public representatives, district officials, education department officers, teachers and local residents, were present at the inauguration ceremony. The programme was widely welcomed as a milestone in improving educational standards and bridging the digital divide in the region.

With the rollout of smart classrooms, Jashpur district is set to take a major leap towards technology-driven education, ensuring that students from remote areas are better prepared for future academic and professional challenges.
