Rajeev Shrivastava briefs Chief Minister on plans to strengthen transparency and public trust in policing

TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 2, 2026: Newly appointed member of the Chhattisgarh State Police Accountability Authority, Rajeev Shrivastava, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at his official residence on Monday shortly after assuming charge.

During the meeting, Mr. Shrivastava briefed the Chief Minister on the authority’s ongoing initiatives, institutional functioning and proposed roadmap aimed at strengthening oversight mechanisms in the state’s policing system. He outlined steps being taken to enhance transparency, ensure accountability and reinforce public confidence in law enforcement institutions.

Officials said the interaction focused on improving grievance redressal processes, monitoring standards of police conduct and ensuring timely action in complaints related to misconduct or procedural lapses. The authority, established to function as an independent oversight body, plays a key role in promoting ethical policing practices and safeguarding citizens’ rights.

The Chief Minister is understood to have emphasised the importance of maintaining public trust in the police force and encouraged continued efforts to make the system more responsive, transparent and people-centric.
