Kerosene Allocation Released for April Under PDS

528 Kiloliters to Be Distributed to Antyodaya and Priority Ration Card Holders Across State

TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 7,2026: The state government has released the allocation of kerosene for April 2026 under the Public Distribution System (PDS), with a total of 528 kiloliters earmarked for distribution among ration card holders.

According to the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, the allocation has been drawn from the first-quarter (April–June) quota received from the Central Government. The kerosene will be distributed through Fair Price Shops to beneficiaries holding Antyodaya and Priority category ration cards.

Under the distribution plan, ration card holders in urban areas will receive up to one litre of kerosene per card, while those in rural areas—both Scheduled and Non-Scheduled regions—will be entitled to a maximum of two litres.

The state government has directed all District Collectors to ensure timely lifting and distribution of the allocated kerosene. Officials have also been asked to conduct local awareness campaigns to inform beneficiaries about their entitlements under the scheme.

To avoid shortages, authorities have been instructed to redistribute any surplus stock from Fair Price Shops where demand is low to outlets facing higher demand. The Food Department has mandated that the lifting of the April allocation be completed by April 30, 2026. Oil company officials have also been asked to submit details of any unutilized quotas to the department by the same date.

According to departmental data, Bilaspur district has received the highest allocation of 36 kiloliters. Districts including Bastar, Kanker, Janjgir-Champa, Korba, Durg, Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara, Mahasamund, Raipur and Jashpur have each been allotted 24 kiloliters, while the remaining districts of the state have been allocated 12 kiloliters each.
