Over two lakh teachers to receive AI training as pilot ‘AI Saksham Shiksha Abhiyan’ begins in Raipur
TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 9,2026: In a major push to integrate emerging technologies into the education system, Chhattisgarh has initiated a transformative programme aimed at introducing Artificial Intelligence (AI)–based innovations in school education.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday held a courtesy meeting with Sanjay Jain, Head of Google for Education India, and Rakesh Ranjan at his official residence in Raipur. The Chief Minister welcomed the visiting delegation with traditional shawls and a replica of Bastar art.
During the meeting, Jain informed that a Letter of Intent (LoI) has been signed between the Raipur district administration and Google to launch a pilot project titled “AI Saksham Shiksha Abhiyan.” The initiative aims to promote AI-based innovations and digital learning practices in schools.
Under the programme’s ‘Saksham Shikshak Abhiyan’ component, teachers across the state will be trained in modern digital tools and AI-enabled teaching methods. The first phase of the campaign will begin in Raipur and will later be expanded to all districts of the state.
Officials said the initiative seeks to provide AI certification to more than two lakh teachers. To support the effort, Google for Education will offer its digital platform free of cost, enabling educators to build technological and digital teaching capabilities.
In the initial phase, specialised workshops involving around 200 teachers will be organised to provide hands-on training in Google for Education tools. The workshops will also focus on integrating AI effectively in classroom teaching and improving student learning outcomes.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Sai said the state government is committed to making Chhattisgarh’s education system technology-driven and future-ready. He emphasised that incorporating advanced technologies such as AI into education is a decisive step towards preparing students for global competition.
The Chief Minister described the AI Saksham Shiksha Abhiyan as a transformative initiative that will benefit both teachers and students. By equipping educators with AI-based training and digital resources, classroom learning can become more effective and outcome-oriented, he said.
Reiterating the government’s vision, Sai said the state aims to establish Chhattisgarh as a knowledge-driven and technologically empowered region where every student has access to modern and high-quality education. He added that the initiative aligns with the goals of the National Education Policy 2020 and the Digital India mission.
Secretary to the Chief Minister Mukesh Bansal, Raipur Collector Gaurav Singh, and other senior officials were also present during the meeting.
