Over 46 Lakh Women Apply for Chhattisgarh Government’s Mahtari Vandan Yojana

Initiative Aimed at Women Empowerment Gains Momentum

TFP Bureau, Raipur; February 12, 2024: The Mahtari Vandan Yojana, launched by the Chhattisgarh Government to promote women empowerment, has witnessed overwhelming participation, with over 46 lakh women across the state submitting applications thus far.

Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, eligible women are actively encouraged to avail themselves of the benefits offered by the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Women from various backgrounds are displaying keen interest in the scheme, flocking to designated camps set up in all districts to complete their applications. With the assurance of receiving Rs 1,000 monthly from the Chhattisgarh Government, beneficiaries express optimism about fulfilling their daily needs and leading dignified lives. The scheme promises an annual assistance of Rs 12,000 to eligible recipients.

District-wise Application Statistics:

As of now, Raigarh district has received 1,64,501 applications, while Janjgir-Champa follows closely with 2,11,503 applications. Balrampur and Balodabazar districts have received 1,45,502 and 1,45,004 applications, respectively. Other districts, including Kondagaon, Kawardha, and Surajpur, have also witnessed significant participation, with thousands of applications pouring in from each region.

The widespread enthusiasm among women for the Mahtari Vandan Yojana underscores the success of the government’s efforts in promoting women’s welfare and empowerment across Chhattisgarh.
