TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 19, 2026: Bastar is set to witness a historic moment as the 26th meeting of the Central Zonal Council is being held in Jagdalpur for the first time. The high-level meeting, chaired by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, is expected to bring together chief ministers and senior officials from several states to deliberate on key issues related to inter-state coordination, development, and internal security.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the hosting of such an important national-level meeting in Bastar marks a significant milestone for the region. He noted that May 19, 2026, will be remembered as an important day in the history of Bastar, symbolizing the region’s transformation and growing prominence at the national level.

Welcoming the dignitaries arriving in Chhattisgarh for the meeting, Chief Minister Sai extended a warm reception to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The visiting leaders were received with traditional Chhattisgarhi hospitality, reflecting the state’s cultural warmth and respect for distinguished guests.

During the visit, Chief Minister Sai also held discussions with the visiting chief ministers on several contemporary issues, including inter-state cooperation, regional development, and governance-related matters. The interactions focused on strengthening coordination between states and sharing best practices to ensure effective implementation of development initiatives.

While welcoming Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister Sai honored him with a traditional Gamcha, symbolizing the cultural heritage and hospitality of Chhattisgarh. The leaders also exchanged views on administrative cooperation, development strategies, and public welfare schemes.

Chief Minister Sai emphasized that organizing the Central Zonal Council meeting in Bastar reflects the region’s progress and growing stability. He remarked that Bastar, which once faced significant challenges due to Naxalite violence, is now steadily moving towards peace, security, and development. The presence of national leaders and chief ministers from various states further highlights the region’s changing identity and increasing confidence.
