Online Application Deadline Extended Till June 21; Admissions to Be Conducted Through NEET UG Merit
Raipur, May 28: In a major opportunity for children of insured workers employed in the organized sector, the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has reserved 700 seats in MBBS and BDS courses across its 20 medical colleges nationwide for the academic session 2026-27.
Officials from the Labour Department said the initiative, launched under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, aims to provide quality medical education opportunities to children from working-class families covered under the ESIC scheme.
According to information received from the Office of the Labour Commissioner, admissions to these reserved seats will be conducted on the basis of NEET UG merit. The last date for submission of online applications, which was earlier May 31, has now been extended till June 21, 2026.
Eligible candidates have been advised to apply online through the official website of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation without delay.
Labour Department officials said the scheme has been designed to help talented students from economically weaker and middle-income working families pursue medical education without facing financial obstacles.
Under the programme, a total of 700 seats have been reserved in 20 ESIC medical colleges across the country. Selection will be strictly based on NEET UG scores and eligibility criteria prescribed by the corporation.
