Jashpur Forest Division Makes History; Name Enters Golden Book of World Records

*World record set by dispersing over 200,000 seed balls in a single day

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 20, 2026: Achieving a historic milestone in environmental conservation and public participation, the Jashpur Forest Division has entered its name into the Golden Book of World Records by dispersing and planting over 200,000 seed balls in a single day. To mark this remarkable achievement, Smt. Sonal Rajesh Sharma, State Head of the Golden Book of World Records, presented the official certificate to the Jashpur Forest Division in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai at a program held at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office in Bagiya. Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Shri Shashi Kumar received the certificate on behalf of the division.

Congratulating the Jashpur Forest Division, the Forest Department, and all citizens involved in the campaign, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated that environmental conservation is not merely a government obligation but a collective responsibility of society. He remarked that the “Beej Gola Banabo, Jashpur ke Jungle La Badhabo” (Make Seed Balls, Expand Jashpur’s Forests) campaign in Jashpur has emerged as an excellent example of public participation and nature conservation.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that when the government, administration, and society unite for a positive cause, even seemingly impossible goals can be achieved with ease. He added that this achievement is a source of pride not only for Jashpur but for the entire state of Chhattisgarh and will serve as an inspiration for other districts in the field of environmental conservation.

Under the ambitious campaign “Beej Gola Banabo, Jashpur ke Jungle La Badhabo” conducted by the Jashpur Forest Division, a large-scale seed ball dispersal program was organized across various areas of the district. The campaign aims to strengthen environmental balance through the conservation of natural vegetation, the enhancement of biodiversity, and the expansion of green cover.

A standout feature of the campaign was the extensive public participation witnessed throughout the initiative. Local villagers, public representatives, students, women’s self-help groups, social organizations, Forest Department officials and staff, and ordinary citizens participated enthusiastically. Driven by the cooperation of thousands of people, this campaign evolved into a mass movement, setting a new record by dispersing over 200,000 seed balls in a single day.

This achievement has earned Jashpur district a new identity at both national and international levels. It has also demonstrated that significant, positive results in environmental conservation can be achieved through community participation.

District Panchayat President Shri Salik Sai, Collector Shri Rohit Vyas, and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Umed Singh were present on the occasion, alongside Forest Department officials and staff, representatives of various social organizations, and a large number of citizens.
