Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai Joins Virtual Programme from Kunkuri
TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 20, 2026: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the 23rd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana during a programme held at Tarakeswar in Hooghly district, West Bengal, on June 20. Through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), more than Rs. 18,880 crore was transferred directly into the bank accounts of over 9.44 crore eligible farmers across the country. In Chhattisgarh, more than Rs. 490 crore was transferred to the accounts of over 24 lakh farmer families. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai participated in a virtual programme organised at Swami Atmanand Excellent English Medium School, Saliyatoli, Kunkuri, in Jashpur district.
Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that farmers are the foundation of the nation’s prosperity and that the vision of a Developed India cannot be realised without farmers’ progress. He stated that the PM-KISAN Yojana has become an effective instrument for providing financial support to farmers while strengthening the agricultural sector.
The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of preserving agricultural land and Mother Earth for future generations. With this objective, the government has launched “Khet Bachao Abhiyan” across the country. He urged farmers to actively participate in the campaign and encourage others to do the same.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that the prosperity of farmers is the strongest foundation of a Developed India and a Developed Chhattisgarh. He stated that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, farmers have gained greater economic security, confidence and dignity. The PM-KISAN Yojana, he added, is one of the most successful initiatives in the country for providing essential financial assistance to farmers.
Farmers attending the programme expressed happiness over receiving the assistance at the start of the Kharif season, stating that the funds would be extremely useful for agricultural preparations. They said the support would help them purchase fertilisers, seeds and other farming inputs while ensuring timely agricultural operations.
The farmers expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, stating that farmer-friendly government policies are continuously strengthening the agricultural sector and improving farmers’ economic conditions.
*Continuous Efforts to Strengthen the Agriculture Sector
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is prioritising farmers’ welfare by promoting modern agricultural technologies, expanding irrigation facilities, improving market access and encouraging value addition. He stated that the government’s objective is not only to support agricultural production but also to connect farmers with agri-entrepreneurship and value-based agriculture to ensure sustainable income growth.
He added that schemes such as the PM-KISAN Yojana are strengthening both farmers and the rural economy. The prosperity of farmers, he said, remains the cornerstone of making India a Developed nation and a developed Chhattisgarh.
