Renovated Jubilee Park Inaugurated at BALCO Nagar; Minister Hails Company’s Role in Regional Development

Commerce and Industry Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan says BALCO’s investments in civic infrastructure and community welfare are driving holistic regional development, while the revamped Jubilee Park offers a modern recreational space for residents of all age groups.

TFP Bureau, Korba, June 28,2026: Chhattisgarh Commerce and Industry Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan on Saturday inaugurated the newly renovated Jubilee Park at the Civic Centre in BALCO Nagar, praising Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) for its continued contribution to regional development through investments in public infrastructure, community welfare and environmental sustainability.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Korba Mayor Sanju Devi Rajput, BALCO CEO and Whole-time Director Rajesh Kumar Singh, Ward No. 43 Councillor Hitanand Agrawal, along with public representatives, local residents, BALCO officials and employees.

Following the inauguration, the dignitaries toured the revamped park and inspected its newly developed facilities, including landscaped green spaces, children’s play zones, yoga and walking tracks, senior citizens’ seating areas, an open-air gym and other recreational amenities designed for people of all age groups.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Dewangan said the renovated park would serve as an important public space promoting health, fitness and community interaction. He noted that BALCO has played a significant role in the region’s holistic development through initiatives such as road construction, community centres, women’s empowerment programmes and other public welfare projects.

“Industrial development generates both direct and indirect employment while giving fresh momentum to the local economy. BALCO’s journey of development will set a benchmark for the entire region,” the Minister said, while expressing appreciation to the company’s management and employees for the initiative.

BALCO CEO Rajesh Kumar Singh said the company remains committed to contributing not only to industrial growth but also to the development of social and civic infrastructure. He described the renovated Jubilee Park as a reflection of BALCO’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life of the local community.

“The park will provide residents with a modern public space for recreation, fitness, wellness and social interaction. We are grateful to the community for its continued trust and support,” Singh said.

Mayor Sanju Devi Rajput also commended BALCO for its sustained contribution to community development, citing projects such as road construction, community centres and drainage infrastructure in Nehru Nagar. She described the renovation of Jubilee Park as another meaningful initiative that would benefit the people of the township.

Originally established in 1990 to commemorate BALCO’s Silver Jubilee, the park has now been comprehensively modernised with upgraded infrastructure and enhanced public amenities. The facility has been designed to cater to children, youth, adults and senior citizens alike, featuring safe play equipment, dedicated relaxation zones, yoga and meditation spaces, an open-air fitness area and a well-laid walking track.

BALCO officials said the renovated park is expected to emerge as a vibrant community hub, promoting healthy lifestyles, environmental awareness, recreation and stronger social engagement while enhancing the overall quality of life in BALCO Township and the surrounding region.
