New digital services aimed at faster, convenient access for advocates and litigants; Tribunal reports approval of 78 resolution plans worth ₹5,517.66 crore in April-June quarter
TFP Bureau, New Delhi, August 12, 2026: The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) on Wednesday launched its e-Inspection and e-Certified Copy Services as part of efforts to make its Registry more accessible, efficient and technology-driven.
NCLT President Justice Anupinder Singh Grewal inaugurated the two services through video conferencing. The new facilities are designed to provide advocates, litigants and other stakeholders with faster and more convenient access to judicial records and certified copies.
The services form part of the Tribunal’s wider digital transformation programme, which includes its revamped website and the ongoing e-Courts 2.0 initiative.
Focus on reducing case pendency
Justice Grewal also highlighted measures undertaken by the NCLT to strengthen case management and reduce pendency. The Tribunal has adopted a data-driven mechanism to monitor pending cases across its Benches, based on which workload has been reviewed and redistributed.
Special Benches have also been constituted wherever required, while efforts have been made to maximise the utilisation of available judicial time.
These measures contributed to the approval of 78 resolution plans during April-June 2026, marking the highest first-quarter performance since the enactment of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC). The resolution plans involved approximately ₹5,517.66 crore.
Guidelines issued for efficient case listing
The NCLT has also issued detailed guidelines concerning registration and listing of cases following consultations with the Bar. The guidelines are aimed at ensuring optimum utilisation of the Tribunal’s limited judicial resources and improving the efficiency of proceedings.
Justice Grewal acknowledged that the Tribunal continues to face infrastructure and manpower constraints, but said sustained efforts were being made to minimise avoidable delays and improve overall efficiency.
The launch of the e-Inspection and e-Certified Copy Services is expected to further streamline access to records and reduce the need for physical visits to NCLT offices, strengthening the Tribunal’s move towards a more transparent, technology-enabled and stakeholder-friendly justice delivery system.
