Chhattisgarh Government Transfers 31 IPS Officers in Major Police Reshuffle

Senior officers assigned new responsibilities; key changes made in police headquarters, anti-narcotics, SIA, CID, traffic and law-and-order wings

TFP Raipur, August 24, 2026: The Chhattisgarh Government on Monday ordered a major reshuffle of the Indian Police Service (IPS), transferring and assigning new responsibilities to 31 IPS officers across the state police administration.

The Home (Police) Department issued the transfer and posting order from Nava Raipur Atal Nagar on August 24, with the new assignments effective until further orders.

Among the major changes, senior IPS officer Pawan Dev, IPS (1992 batch), presently Chairman and Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Police Housing Corporation, has been appointed Director General of Nagar Sainik and Civil Defence and Fire Services.

Gurjinder Pal Singh, IPS (1994 batch), presently Director General at Police Headquarters, has been posted as Director General, Training, and Director of the State Police Academy.

S.R.P. Kalluri, IPS (1994 batch), currently Additional Director General of Police in charge of Administration and Selection at Police Headquarters, has been appointed Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Police Housing Corporation.

Pradeep Gupta, IPS (1995 batch), has been posted as Additional Director General of Police (Administration and Selection), with additional charge as Additional Managing Director of the Police Housing Corporation.

Vivekanand, IPS (1996 batch), has been given additional charge as Additional Director General of Police, Finance, Planning and Management at Police Headquarters. Deepanshu Vijay Kawra, IPS (1997 batch), will hold additional charge as Additional Director General of Police, Railways, and Additional Director General of Police, Traffic.

Amit Kumar, IPS (1998 batch), has been given additional charge as Additional Director General of Police, Special Task Force and Anti-Narcotics Task Force. Dr Anand Chhabda, IPS (2001 batch), has been appointed Additional Director General of Police, Technical Services, Dial-112 and Telecommunications.

Omprakash Paul, IPS (2003 batch), presently heading Naxal Operations/SIB, has been appointed Director General of Police, Law and Order/Security.

Several changes have also been made at the Inspector General and Deputy Inspector General levels. Ankit Kumar Garg, IPS (2004 batch), has been assigned additional charge as Inspector General of Police, Special Task Force and SIA, along with his existing responsibilities.

Dhruv Gupta, IPS (2005 batch), has been appointed Inspector General of Police, CID and CCTNS & SCRB. Balajirao Somawar, IPS (2007 batch), will serve as Inspector General of Police, SC/ST Police Headquarters, while Prashant Kumar Agrawal, IPS (2008 batch), has been posted as Inspector General of Police, S4C and Technical Services.

Milna Kure, IPS (2008 batch), has been appointed Inspector General of Police, Chhattisgarh Armed Force, while Parul Mathur, IPS (2008 batch), has been given charge as Deputy Inspector General, Anti-Narcotics Task Force.

Manish Sharma, IPS (2009 batch), has been appointed Deputy Inspector General, Administration and Selection. Abhishek Meena, IPS (2010 batch), will serve as Deputy Inspector General, Chhattisgarh Armed Force, Bastar, while Sadanand Kumar, IPS (2010 batch), has been posted as Deputy Inspector General, Chhattisgarh Armed Force, Police Headquarters.

Giriraj Shankar Jaiswal, IPS (2010 batch), has been appointed Deputy Inspector General, S4C and Technical Services. S.M. Kotwani, IPS (2010 batch), has been posted as Deputy Inspector General, Intelligence.

Prashant Kumar Thakur, IPS (2011 batch), has been assigned charge as Deputy Inspector General, CCTNS and SCRB. Ajatshatru Bahadur Singh, IPS (2011 batch), has been appointed Deputy Inspector General, Nagar Sena, State Disaster Management Force and Director, Fire Services.

Vivek Shukla, IPS (2012 batch), has been posted as Deputy Inspector General, Security, while Rajesh Kukreja, IPS (2012 batch), will take charge as Deputy Inspector General, Finance, Planning and Management.

Shweta Rajmani, IPS (2012 batch), has been appointed Deputy Inspector General, Telecommunications and Dial-112. Ramkrishna Sahu, IPS (2012 batch), has been posted as Deputy Inspector General, CID.

Mohit Garg, IPS (2013 batch), has been appointed Additional Deputy Inspector General, Administration and Selection, while Ravi Kumar Kure, IPS (2014 batch), will serve as Additional Deputy Inspector General, CID.

Yadulal Akshay Kumar, IPS (2018 batch), has been appointed Additional Deputy Inspector General, CCTNS, with additional responsibility as Additional Transport Commissioner–Road Safety/Sahayak Police Mahadnirekshak.

Chirag Jain, IPS (2020 batch), has been transferred to the 18th Battalion of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force at Manendragarh-Chirmiri. Anjali Vishwakarma, IPS (2021 batch), has been posted as Additional Deputy Inspector General, Traffic, at Police Headquarters.
