CM Vishnu Dev Sai Joins ‘Jai Bhim Padyatra’ with Youth in Raipur

TFP Raipur, April 13, 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai led from the front as he joined hundreds of young participants in the ‘Jai Bhim Padyatra’ in Raipur today, celebrating the enduring legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the foundational values of the Indian Constitution. The march commenced from Telibandha pond and concluded at Ambedkar Chowk, where the Chief Minister garlanded the statue of Dr. Ambedkar and read the Preamble of the Constitution alongside the youth.

The event was organized jointly by the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare, Government of Chhattisgarh, and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan. At the culmination point, CM Sai also signed the “Preamble Wall,” reaffirming his commitment to the Constitution’s core principles.

Inspiration from ‘Panchtirtha’ and Constitution Day

Addressing the gathering, CM Sai described the Constitution of India as a “holy book” that guarantees dignity and equality to every citizen. “Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s farsightedness laid the foundation of our democracy. His life journey, from humble beginnings in Mau to becoming the architect of India’s Constitution, is an inspiration to all,” he said.

He also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to develop five key sites associated with Ambedkar’s life as the ‘Panchtirtha’, so the youth can draw strength from his ideals. He praised the observance of Constitution Day as a national reminder of our commitment to democratic values.

Youth Must Uphold Democratic Ideals, Says CM

Emphasizing the pivotal role of young citizens, the Chief Minister called on them to actively safeguard India’s democratic institutions. “While many nations that gained independence alongside us faltered in maintaining democracy, India has grown stronger due to the vision of leaders like Baba Saheb,” he said.

Youth Contributors Honoured

As part of the program, CM Sai also felicitated youth who have made exceptional contributions to society. The event saw participation from Cabinet Minister Tankaram Verma, who called Dr. Ambedkar’s life “a guiding light” for all Indians, and several MLAs including Purandar Mishra, Khuswant Saheb, Anuj Sharma, and Motilal Sahu.

Also present were Youth Commission Chairman Vishwavijay Singh Tomar, Sports and Youth Welfare Department Secretary Himshikhar Gupta, and Municipal Commissioner Vishwadeep, along with a large number of school children, youth, and citizens.
