CM Vishnu Deo Sai discusses proposed GAIL project, Electronics Manufacturing Cluster 2.0 and investment-led employment opportunities with Assembly Speaker Raman Singh
TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 8, 2026: The proposed gas-based fertilizer plant of GAIL (India) Limited in Rajnandgaon is set to open new avenues for industrial growth, employment and ancillary business activities in the region, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister made the remarks during a cordial meeting with Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh at the latter’s residence in Raipur. The two leaders discussed a range of issues concerning the state’s industrial and economic development, including the proposed fertilizer plant and the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster 2.0 (EMC 2.0).
GAIL fertilizer project expected to spur local economy
Chief Minister Sai said the proposed GAIL gas-based fertilizer plant would be a significant addition to Rajnandgaon’s industrial landscape. Besides creating direct and indirect employment opportunities, the project is expected to generate avenues for self-employment and provide a boost to ancillary industries, trade and other business activities.
He said the project would help accelerate economic activity in Rajnandgaon and adjoining areas and contribute to strengthening the state’s industrial and economic base.
Focus on modern and high-value manufacturing
The Chief Minister said the state government is working to create an investment-friendly environment and attract new industries to Chhattisgarh. Alongside strengthening established industrial sectors, the government is focusing on emerging industries based on modern technology and high-value manufacturing.
He highlighted Electronics Manufacturing Cluster 2.0 as an important initiative aimed at establishing Chhattisgarh as an emerging hub for electronics and advanced manufacturing.
According to Sai, the development of such sectors will diversify the state’s industrial economy and create new opportunities for skilled employment among local youth.
Investment to translate into jobs and regional development
The Chief Minister said coordinated efforts by the Central and state governments have opened new possibilities for major industrial projects and investments in Chhattisgarh.
“Our endeavour is to ensure that investments coming into the state become a means of employment for local youth, regional development and economic prosperity,” Sai said.
He added that the proposed fertilizer plant in Rajnandgaon would be an important step towards achieving these objectives while strengthening the region’s industrial ecosystem.
