Renovation and canal improvement works to expand irrigation coverage across 408 hectares in the district
TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 25, 2026: The Chhattisgarh Government’s Water Resources Department has sanctioned ₹14.78 crore for renovation and improvement of three irrigation projects in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district.
The works are aimed at improving the efficiency of existing irrigation infrastructure and expanding irrigation coverage across 408 hectares.
₹4.94 crore for Tekapar Reservoir
An amount of ₹4.94 crore has been sanctioned for renovation of the Tekapar Reservoir and lining of its canals. The project, once completed, is expected to provide irrigation facilities to 133 hectares of agricultural land.
₹4.85 crore for Salhewara Reservoir
The department has sanctioned ₹4.85 crore for renovation of the Salhewara Reservoir, along with canal remodelling and lining works. The project will facilitate irrigation over 164 hectares after completion.
₹4.98 crore for Singarpur diversion headworks
A further ₹4.98 crore has been approved for renovation of the Singarpur diversion headworks and remodelling and lining of the associated canals. The completed works will provide irrigation facilities to 111 hectares.
Together, the three projects are expected to strengthen irrigation infrastructure and improve water availability for agricultural activities across 408 hectares in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district.
