TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 28, 2026: Sushri Sanju Devi, a member of the Indian women’s kabaddi team that won the gold medal at the Asian Games 2026 and a daughter of Chhattisgarh, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai at the Chief Minister’s residence on Monday. Chief Minister Shri Sai congratulated and felicitated Sushri Sanju Devi on this historic achievement. On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced an incentive of Rs 51 lakh for Sushri Sanju Devi.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that through her outstanding performance, hard work and determination, Sushri Sanju Devi has brought pride to Chhattisgarh and the entire nation on the international stage. Her achievement inspires the state’s daughters and young sportspersons. He said Chhattisgarh’s sporting talents have immense potential. The State Government is working to ensure that talented sportspersons receive better training, resources and encouragement to move forward so that they can bring laurels to the state and the country in national and international competitions.
The Chief Minister had a warm interaction with Sushri Sanju Devi about her experiences at the Asian Games and the Indian team’s outstanding performance. Appreciating her hard work and dedication to the sport, he wished her a bright future. The Chief Minister said that a sportsperson’s achievement is not merely an individual success, but also gives new wings to the dreams of thousands of young people. Sushri Sanju Devi’s success will boost the confidence of children and youth in villages and small towns across the state who aspire to excel in sports.
The Indian team delivered an outstanding performance in the women’s kabaddi competition at the Asian Games 2026 in Japan, defeating Iran in the final to win the gold medal. Sushri Sanju Devi, a resident of Korba district in Chhattisgarh, also contributed significantly to this proud achievement.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the government is making consistent efforts to create a positive environment for sports and sportspersons in Chhattisgarh. Our resolve is to ensure that talented sportspersons emerging from the state’s remote regions also receive adequate opportunities to hone their abilities and reach national and international sporting platforms. Achievements by talented sportspersons such as Sushri Sanju Devi further strengthen this resolve.
