TFP Bureau, New Delhi, April 15, 2025: President Droupadi Murmu today met with IAS officers of the 2023 batch, currently serving as Assistant Secretaries in various Union Ministries and Departments, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre. In her address, the President urged the young officers to embrace their roles as agents of transformative change and to lead with integrity, simplicity, and a deep commitment to public service.
Congratulating them for their hard-earned success, the President noted that their efforts now have the power to uplift countless lives. “Your first posting itself gives you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference,” she said, emphasizing the importance of serving the underprivileged and returning to their places of posting later in their careers to witness the long-term impact of their work.
President Murmu reminded the officers that their true worth would not be measured by social media presence but by the quality and honesty of their service. “Your real social net worth is your good work,” she stated, calling on them to uphold the highest values of truth, honesty, and accountability.
Highlighting the challenges of the modern era—from climate change to moral erosion—President Murmu urged the officers to remain steadfast in their principles. She stressed that public servants must always lead by example and maintain a close connection with citizens to ensure effective governance and participatory development.
“The development and public welfare work done by you at the local and state levels will play a key role in achieving the nation’s broader objectives,” she concluded
