Surguja Government Schools to Offer Free NEET, JEE Coaching to 2,120 Students

Minister Rajesh Agrawal launches two-year online programme across 35 schools, featuring expert faculty, smart classrooms and AI-based performance tracking

TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 17, 2026: Students in Surguja district will be able to prepare for national-level medical and engineering entrance examinations without travelling to major cities, with the state launching free live online coaching for NEET and JEE across 35 government higher secondary schools.

Tourism and Culture Minister Rajesh Agrawal inaugurated the initiative at the District Collectorate conference hall on Saturday. Launched jointly by the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) and the School Education Department, the programme aims to benefit approximately 2,120 students over two academic years, 2026-27 and 2027-28.

The initiative is designed to provide students, particularly those facing financial or geographical constraints, access to quality coaching and expert guidance within their schools. Students in the Mathematics stream will prepare for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), while those in the Biology stream will receive coaching for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).

Addressing the students, Agrawal said talent was not limited to big cities and that children from Surguja could achieve national recognition if provided with the right opportunities, resources and guidance.

He described the programme as a commitment to helping thousands of students pursue their ambitions, irrespective of their financial circumstances. Education, he said, was a powerful tool for shaping the future of society, and no deserving student should have to abandon their aspirations because of a lack of resources.

The minister urged students to set clear goals, maintain discipline and work consistently towards success. He also emphasised the importance of good conduct and a positive outlook alongside academic achievement.

Agrawal asked school principals to ensure regular attendance in online coaching sessions and maintain communication with parents to encourage their active involvement in their children’s education.

Interactive classes and digital learning resources

PhysicsWallah Limited will conduct the coaching through live, two-way interactive classes simultaneously across all 35 selected government higher secondary schools. The sessions will be delivered in both Hindi and English, enabling students to interact with subject experts and seek clarification of their doubts.

Apart from live classes, students will have access to recorded lectures, a mobile application, a learning management system, class notes, printed study materials, question banks, online mock tests and an All-India test series.

AI-based monitoring of student performance

The programme will also use artificial intelligence-based learning analytics to assess students’ progress and performance. The system will include performance tracking and parental reporting, helping monitor learning outcomes and keep families informed about students’ academic development.

The initiative seeks to bridge the gap in access to competitive-examination coaching between students in smaller towns and those in major cities, while enabling government-school students in Surguja to prepare for medical and engineering careers closer to home.
