In Indian culture, service is not merely a duty but one of the highest values of life. It inspires individuals to rise above their personal interests and dedicate themselves to the welfare of society and the nation. The 25 years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s public life represent an inspiring journey of service, dedication, good governance and nation-building.

After assuming the responsibility of public service as Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has consistently accorded the highest priority to public welfare and national interests throughout his 25 years in public life. His journey from Chief Minister of Gujarat to Prime Minister of India reflects development, determination and public trust. He has envisioned governance not merely as an administrative system, but as a means of bringing positive change to the lives of the poor, farmers, women, youth and the last person in society.

Under Prime Minister Shri Modi’s leadership, the country has achieved significant milestones in public welfare and the expansion of basic amenities. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has provided permanent homes to crores of families. The Ujjwala Yojana has helped women escape the hardship of cooking with smoky fuels, Ayushman Bharat has extended health protection to families in need, and the Swachh Bharat Mission has strengthened women’s dignity and self-respect alongside improved sanitation. The Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana continues to provide food security to citizens. Moreover, Jan Dhan Yojana, Digital India and Direct Benefit Transfer have made government schemes more accessible and transparent. Initiatives such as the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi, MUDRA Yojana, Startup India and skill development programmes have opened new opportunities for farmers, young people and entrepreneurs. The most significant aspect of these efforts is the emphasis on ensuring that the benefits of development reach the last person in society.

Alongside development, Prime Minister Shri Modi has also given renewed direction to the preservation of India’s cultural and spiritual heritage. The construction of the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the development of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham and the expansion of facilities at major pilgrimage sites have brought renewed recognition to India’s cultural heritage. The growth of religious and cultural tourism is also creating new opportunities for local employment, handicrafts and livelihoods.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh is also moving steadily towards realising Prime Minister Shri Modi’s vision of a developed India. Efforts are underway to develop tourist destinations, preserve tribal culture, improve facilities at religious sites and encourage local artists and craftspeople. Our rich cultural heritage is an important foundation for building a developed Chhattisgarh.

To mark the completion of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service, the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, organised in Chhattisgarh from September 17 to October 17, 2026, has infused fresh energy into the spirit of public service and citizen participation. Conducted under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the campaign sought to engage diverse sections of society in activities related to service and nation-building through 12 major initiatives.

‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ conveyed the message of service, gratitude and positivity, while ‘Mere Sapnon Ka Bharat–Chitra Seva’ gave children and students an opportunity to express their visions of a developed India through art. Initiatives such as ‘Namo Seva–Ankahi Kahaniyan’ and ‘Seva Ke Rang, Rashtra Ke Sang’ carried the spirit of service to people through art, culture and creative activities. ‘Aangan Milan Seva’ encouraged awareness of maternal and child health, nutrition and women’s empowerment. ‘Seva Ki Kahani’ brought forward stories of positive changes in people’s lives through public welfare schemes. Initiatives such as ‘Seva Sankalp Yatra’, ‘Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra’ and ‘Seva Mera Yogdan’ strengthened social participation and a shared sense of responsibility.

Similarly, ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’ and ‘Sushasan Seva Samvad’ emphasised connecting citizens with government services and making administration more responsive and sensitive to public needs. The ‘Seva First Innovation Challenge’ encouraged young people to contribute fresh ideas and innovative solutions. Together, these activities conveyed a powerful message: nation-building is not the responsibility of the government alone, but a shared duty of every citizen. Seva Sankalp Abhiyan formally concludes on October 17, 2026. Over the past month, the campaign has provided an opportunity to promote service, cleanliness, social awareness, creativity and public participation on a wider scale. However, its true significance will lie in making this commitment to service a lasting part of our daily lives and social conduct.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 25-year journey in public service inspires us to recognise that determination, sustained effort and public participation can bring about far-reaching change. A developed India can be built only when every citizen understands their responsibilities and contributes to the progress of society and the nation.

I extend my appreciation to all citizens, youth, women, students, artists, social organisations and public representatives of Chhattisgarh who contributed to advancing the spirit of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Let us resolve to make cleanliness, environmental protection, assistance to those in need, girls’ education, preservation of our cultural heritage and social harmony integral to our lives. The conclusion of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan marks the end of an event, not the end of the spirit of service. It signals the beginning of renewed commitments towards public welfare, good governance and the creation of a developed India. By making service a core value, public participation our strength and nation-building our shared commitment, we can turn the vision of a developed Chhattisgarh and a developed India into reality.
