Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel directs officials to expedite infrastructure works and ensure continuous monitoring of roads, bridges, culverts, and public facilities
TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 29, 2026: The state-level inter-departmental committee overseeing the Home Department’s Special Central Assistance (SCA) Scheme reviewed the progress of key infrastructure projects in Naxal-affected districts during a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan on Wednesday.
The meeting focused on assessing the physical and financial progress of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, culverts, and public buildings, being implemented under the Special Central Assistance Scheme in the districts of Bijapur, Narayanpur, Kanker, and Sukma.
During the review, the Chief Secretary directed officials to expedite the completion of all sanctioned projects and sought detailed district-wise updates on completed, ongoing, and pending works. He emphasized the need for timely execution of infrastructure projects to improve connectivity and public services in the affected regions.
Through video conferencing, the Collectors of Bijapur, Narayanpur, Kanker, and Sukma briefed the committee on the status of ongoing construction activities. Shri Sheel instructed the district administrations to regularly monitor project implementation and ensure that all works are carried out as per the approved plans.
Officials informed the committee that 28 road projects have been completed in Bijapur district, while seven roads have been completed in Narayanpur and nine in Sukma. In addition, seven bridge projects have been completed in Kanker district and five in Sukma. The remaining sanctioned projects are currently under various stages of execution.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Forest and Climate Change) Shri Manoj Kumar Pingua, Principal Secretary (Home and Jail) Smt. Niharika Barik Singh, Finance Secretary Dr. Rohit Yadav, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Shri Arun Pandey, Home Secretary Shri Himshikhar Gupta, Panchayat and Rural Development Secretary Shri Bhim Singh, senior officials from various departments, and District Collectors who joined the meeting through video conferencing.
