TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 30, 2025: Raigarh district has emerged as the leader in housing construction under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), securing the top spot in Chhattisgarh. The district has made remarkable strides, completing 14,541 houses in record time out of the 60,609 targeted for 2024-25. This achievement places Raigarh at the forefront, with the highest number of completed houses in the entire state.
Mission Mode Approach Drives Success
The district’s success can be attributed to a well-coordinated, mission-mode approach implemented by the local administration. A strategic plan, regular field visits, and continuous monitoring played a crucial role. Officers were assigned to visit gram panchayats daily to oversee progress, and their work was closely reviewed via video conferencing.
The district administration also ensured quick resolutions to construction-related challenges, such as labor shortages, issues with masons, centering plates, and water supply. Additionally, the district focused on stocking essential materials at key village locations, making it easier for beneficiaries to purchase construction materials.
Excellence in Awas Plus Survey 2024
Raigarh’s success extends beyond construction to its strong performance in the Awas Plus Survey 2024. The survey identified 101,011 new eligible beneficiaries who were previously excluded from the housing scheme. Of these, 8,740 beneficiaries participated through a self-survey, while 92,271 were assisted by field teams. This effort ensured that more people could benefit from the housing scheme, further boosting the district’s housing efforts.
Raigarh Model Sets Benchmark for Other Districts
Raigarh’s achievements have set a new benchmark for other districts in Chhattisgarh. The district’s efficient administration, effective resource management, and the active participation of field workers have played a vital role in the successful implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), making it a model to emulate across the state.
