Chhattisgarh Government Reshuffles IAS Officers in Key Departments

TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 30, 2025: The Chhattisgarh government today announced a series of high-level transfers and postings within its IAS cadre, aiming to strengthen administrative oversight across critical sectors.

Under the orders issued by the General Administration Department:

  • Smt. Reena Baba Saheb Kangale (IAS 2003) has been relieved of her duties as Secretary, Tourism, and will assume charge as Secretary, Food, Civil Supply & Consumer Protection. Consequently, Shri Richa Sharma (IAS 1994), Principal Secretary of the Forest & Climate Change Department, and Shri Abhishek P. (IAS 2004), Secretary Tourism & Culture, have been relieved of their additional charge of this department.

  • Shri S. Prakash (IAS 2005), currently Secretary, Transport Department, will continue in that role and take on the additional charge of Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs.

  • Shri Yashwant Kumar (IAS 2007), until now Secretary of the Rural Industries Department and Parliamentary Affairs, and Managing Director of several state corporations, has been appointed Chief Electoral Officer of Chhattisgarh. He will continue his existing responsibilities alongside this new charge.

  • Shri Shyam Lal Dhawde (IAS 2008), Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Marketing Corporation Limited and in-charge director of multiple state-run industrial bodies, will retain these portfolios with additional responsibilities as assigned by the state government.

These changes, effective immediately, are part of the state’s ongoing efforts to ensure efficient governance and bolster administrative capacity in departments pivotal to public welfare and electoral management.
