TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 30, 2025 — In a significant Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the Chhattisgarh government has made a series of decisions aimed at improving public transportation, technical education, and farmer welfare.
Launch of “Mukhyamantri Gramin Bus Suvidha Yojana”
The Council of Ministers has approved the launch of the “Mukhyamantri Gramin Bus Suvidha Yojana” to provide much-needed transportation services to remote and underserved rural areas of Chhattisgarh. This scheme will provide permits for light and medium transport vehicles with seating capacities ranging from 18 to 42 (excluding the driver). Priority will be given to local residents, particularly Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, women, and Naxal-affected individuals. The permit system will be established through a tender process.
Beneficiaries will enjoy a three-year exemption from monthly taxes, and the government will offer financial assistance of Rs 26 per kilometer in the first year, Rs 24 in the second year, and Rs 22 in the third year. Additionally, special provisions will be made for people with disabilities, senior citizens over 80, and Naxal-affected individuals, with reduced or waived fares.
Boost to Technical Education with NIELIT Center
In another crucial decision, the Cabinet approved the allocation of 10.023 acres of land to the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) for the establishment of a state-of-the-art NIELIT center in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. This new center will revolutionize technical education and digital skill development in the state, opening up new avenues for youth employment and positioning Chhattisgarh as a key player in national technical education.
Support for Farmers on Regha, Batai, Lease, and Duban Land
The Council of Ministers has also made a significant move to support farmers working on Regha, Batai, Lease, and Duban land. These farmers will now be eligible for the benefits under the Krishak Unnati Yojana. The guidelines for the scheme have been amended to provide input assistance to these farmers, ensuring they receive support for paddy and paddy seed procurement in the Kharif season through cooperative societies and other state-run organizations.
Adjustment for B.Ed Qualified Assistant Teachers
In a move to support B.Ed qualified assistant teachers who were previously terminated after direct recruitment in 2023, the Cabinet decided to adjust 2621 such teachers into Assistant Teacher Science (Laboratory) positions. These teachers will be accommodated in 4,422 vacant posts of Assistant Teacher Science (Laboratory) across the state. Additionally, those who have completed their 12th in Arts/Science will be given three years to complete the necessary qualifications and will undergo special training in laboratory work.
The adjustment will be carried out first in the scheduled areas, followed by border districts, and then other regions of the state.
These decisions highlight the government’s commitment to improving public services, education, and welfare programs for the people of Chhattisgarh.
